 1.   The Professional Customer

Learning Outcomes:

The intent of this workshop is that participants will improve their communication skills in order to improve teamwork, morale, and customer service. They will be able to:

  1. Perceive their personal behavioral and social styles and how it affects the way they normally communicate with others.
  2. Recognize and appreciate other people’s communication styles.
  3. Adapt the way they communicate to build understanding and cooperation.
  4. Shift from their preferred style of communication to a more professional style that focuses on high performance and a global customer service orientation.

Workshop Description

This workshop involves people in a highly interactive process of self-discovery and insight. 
Participants begin by identifying their own patterns, recognizing and exploring ways they prefer to act, relate, work, socialize, and deal with change, as well as the ways they prefer to be approached, consulted, and involved in a group process. They are able to name their contribution to the success of a team; recognize other people’s patterns, their strengths and limitations, and how to work more effectively with them.

Workshop Materials

The materials for this workshop will be developed in close connection to the participants learning styles, cognitive ability, and experience in the field they operate in. A handbook with all course materials will be provided, citing theory and practice relative to the content pieces.

End Results

By the end of the workshop participants have a clearer understanding of how they can reduce conflict and miscommunication, build rapport and cooperation, work on teams more efficiently, cope with change more positively, and profit from working collaboratively.

The workshop is designed for a half- or full-day format. Interaction and depth and breadth of emersion in group exercises, and objectives change, depending on the time-frame. 

An evaluation of learning will take place at the end of the workshop.  However, follow-up experiential evaluation is necessary to gauge on-the-job improvement.

2.   Team Environment

Learning Outcomes

The intent of this workshop is to have participants involve themselves in the nature, purpose, and value of effective teamwork in an environment that promotes the principles and behaviors of a team spirit.  Throughout this workshop participants will:

  1. Gain deep insights about teamwork, through the fun activities, training and team interaction
  2. Explore several bodies of information about teamwork to create broader perspectives
  3.  Engage in activities for deeper understanding
  4. Create an action plan for working as a team in their present work environment

Workshop Description

This highly interactive workshop will include a series of team-building activities that will assist trainers to create more effective team spirit in their training sessions. Trainers will engage in a number of interactive exercises, assessment of behaviors, and role plays.  A feedback loop with replays will allow participants to engage in facilitated discussions and debriefs.  This process will inset learning, strengthen positive behaviors and promote teamwork in a collegial working environment.

End Results

Participants will be able to articulate how their attitudes and actions either build teamwork or break it down. This will be done through self-reflective exercises and written statements of new beliefs, values and attitudes.

 3.   Adult Learning Principles for Employees in a Training Capacity

Learning Outcomes:

            This workshop will assist participants to:

  1. Establish a warm, mutually respectful, facilitative relationship with trainees. To establish a physical and psychological climate of comfort, interactivity, collaboration, openness, and mutual trust that facilitates learning
  2. Engage employees responsibly in self-diagnosis of needs for the process of teaching and learning in a training environment
  3. Assist employees in formulating goals, objectives, and directions of growth in terms that are meaningful to trainees
  4. Explore the rationale for selecting particular materials, methods, and techniques for achieving particular educational and training objectives
  • Perform appropriately in the planning, conducting, and evaluating of learning activities

Workshop Description

Trainers of adults are enthusiastic presenters who know their topics well. This workshop will add to your repertoire of skills by covering some additional cognitive, psychomotor, and affective theories of adult learning principles in a fun-filled interactive modality that adheres to everyday workplace realities. Adult Learning Theories and Strategies will take your present training skills to the point where you are able to help your trainees learn and grow as they enjoy their present work environment.

Workshop materials will include activities suitable to the client group.  This training manual will be current and dynamic, catering to a variety of learning styles and can be used in their actual training sessions as well. The materials for this workshop will be developed in close connection to the participants learning styles, cognitive ability, and experience in the field they operate in. A handbook with all course materials will be provided, citing theory and practice relative to the content pieces.

End Results

At the culmination of this workshop trainers will be using that information to plan workshops that incorporate a variety of teaching/learning techniques, develop key facilitation questions to ensure participant understanding of your topic utilizing the Experiential Learning Cycle and other similar strategies, and understand the value of evaluating learning at every step of the training process. Participants will become confident in their knowledge and to develop skills in conceptualizing and planning corporate training.

  2. How to enhance personal values, beliefs and attitudes to become a better facilitator of training?
  3. Why consensus building, decision making, team work, and appropriate learning principles are necessary for effectively facilitating a variety of activities?
  4.  When is it necessary to integrate elements of behavioral psychology in a training atmosphere to activate high performance?

Workshop Description

This workshop equips trainers with a structured approach to the planning, implementation, and follow-up of facilitating learning in a training environment. Several facilitation techniques and processes are demonstrated, modeled, and explored with the trainers. Guidelines and instructions provided on why, when, and how to use them. Throughout the course, attention is focused on the effective management of the people dynamics. This workshop gives participants numerous exercises to practice the techniques presented.

This workshop will bring trainers to the understanding that group facilitation is a process in whereby the facilitator empowers those being facilitated to become persons whose selection is acceptable to all the members of the group, who is substantively neutral, and who can help a group improve how it identifies and solves problems and makes decisions, to increase the group’s and the organization’s effectiveness. It will equip them with the skills to create a working environment of empowerment.

5.  Relationship Building

Learning Outcomes

  1.  Building personal and community relational networks
  2.  Understand what motivates continued participation in multi-group dynamics
  3.  Explore creative problem-solving to foster global communication
  4. Learning how to find common purposes among diverse groups
  5. Understand the hierarchical structure of the organization and the roles and responsibilities required for relationship building, continued inter-relationships and successful collaboration.

Workshop Description

Increasingly it is becoming important to communicate with remote workers engaged in common projects for a worldwide organization as well as the mechanics of the hierarchical structure within which the trainer operates.  Trainers face a completely different set of challenges under these working conditions. Opportunities for miscommunication abound and anxiety arises about missing out on the natural networking and visibility that comes with not being cognizant of these organizational structures. How do you build relationships with peers and coworkers in-house and at remote locations and understanding the organizational structures that makes for smooth and effective operations will be the focus of this workshop.

6.   The Effective Knowledge Worker

Learning Outcomes

The intent of this workshop is to:

  1. Forster creative and innovative new ways of viewing the world and more appropriate ways of working together and doing business;
  2. Examine self as a knowledge worker in a training environment and to become more reflective about the ongoing changes and be adapt and become more effective at your job;
  3. Equip trainers with concepts, tools, and techniques for coping with emerging workplace challenges;
  4. Expose you to new thinking and help you to better understand, interpret, adapt and respond to the challenges emerging from the growth and spread of the knowledge based economy.

Workshop Description

Knowledge workers take responsibility for their work lives. They continually strive to understand the world about them and modify their work practices and behaviors to better meet their personal and organizational objectives. In the knowledge-based organization all knowledge workers are excited about transforming the way they work; their ability to create and to innovate and improving the way they manage and interact with other people in the organization.
